There is some useful info such as restaurant suggestions/reviews....but there's so much left out. Nothing about the resorts, hotels or condos to choose from. A friend suggested we look into the bike ride down the volcano...which apparently is very popular activity..but book had nothing on this. Budd -- The Only Maui Guide Book You Will Ever Need : I have been a Maui visitor since the 80's and have read almost all of the "definitive" Maui guides and this is by far the best one I've seen yet. I became aware of Liza Pierce's Maui Blog a while back and from it I learned of the Maui FB group that she hosts and from that I learned of this book. This is the legit way to see and to experience Maui from a learned viewpoint. If you want to see Maui thru the eyes of someone who lives Aloha and desires to treat the land as her own then you owe it to yourself to get a copy of this wonderful book. It is a quick, easy read full of TONS of information. This was my first time going to Maui, so the first time I read the book I didn't know anything about the North vs. the South Island or any of the cities names...I found myself glancing over certain sections because of that...however, once I arrived it was a completely different story. As we drove the island I had it on my lap with a map so I knew what restaurants to try, activities to do and where to shop. Best advise to start off the trip was to stop by the food trucks near Costco when you arrive...the Poke was AMAZING and I am still dreaming about it today.
